Is the rubber gaurd system/ eddie bravo valid for gi fighting also?

I have become addicted to the 10nth planet system, but i fight out of gracie barra. I am having a hard time with the whip up in gi as they just grab onto the frabic to stop me, is there a way to convert the whip up to gi?
