Reset Smart Phone to Factory settings?

My motorola bravo tends to freeze alot so i wanted to reset it back to factory settings, If i do this what will be erased? I know that all my photos and contacts and videos will be erased but im copying them onto my computer, but does it affect apps and my sim card in any way?
