How to remove family on Facebook?

My godawfully annoying cousin keeps listing me as his cousin on his Facebook page and I would really rather not have people knowing that we are related (for both 'coolness' and privacy reasons). Every time he does this, I deny the request, but when I look at his profile, there I still am under his 'family' section. Is there a way to make this go away? It doesn't show on my profile, but I don't want it on his either. Help!
