just go for it. if u really like him then say yes! i get that she's your friend and all but she shouldnt hold you back from dating someone especially if they are no longer together and havent been for a while. it doesnt seem like what they had was serious anyway. If she doesnt answer her phone maybe you could send her a message over facebook or email and let her know you want to talk about things asap.
